Before the 34th over of India’s second innings in the ongoing second Test at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Sunday, two English players were seen treading on the ball with their spikes.
Aakash Chopra, a former India cricketer, was quick to note this, writing on Twitter, “Ball tampering, eh?

England pacer Stuart Broad, on the other hand, was ready to dismiss the incident as an accident. “As I’m sure you’re aware from viewing the complete footage- it wasn’t deliberate was it?” he commented on Twitter in response to a fan. “That’s the end of the storey.”
In the first session of Day 4, England pacer Mark Wood dismissed India openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, while Sam Curran sent Virat Kohli back to the pavilion, putting the visitors on the back foot.

India’s score at tea on Day 4 was 105/3, with Cheteshwar Pujara (29) and Ajinkya Rahane (24) both unbeaten at the crease. The visitors had built a 78-run advantage.
