Rashid Khan, an Afghanistan spinner, has been named vice-captain of the Gujarat Titans (GT) before of their season opener against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Monday.
GT acquired Rashid for INR 15 crores ahead of the IPL super auction in 2022. He’ll be the deputy to Hardik Pandya, the all-rounder who was also purchased for the same price ahead of the auction.
Rashid has previously lauded his captain, claiming that they had had formed a good relationship and camaraderie ahead of the season. For the Titans franchise, the two will now work together.
“He’s a really lovely guy.” We’ve never played together before, but because of our camaraderie and relationship, it seems like we’ve been playing together for years. “Whenever we chat about my game and his thinking, he is a terrific man who constantly puts in a good mood,” Rashid added.
