Babar Azam, Pakistan’s captain, shrugged off the field drama, claiming that his team dominated Australia for the whole of the first Test at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
With both sides failing to take wickets, the match might have finished in a dreary stalemate. Pakistan did bundle out the Australians, but in exchange they let up 459 runs. The hosts, on the other hand, only lost four wickets in two innings and amassed a total of 728 runs.
“(On if Pakistan overpowered Australia) Definitely, I believe the manner we dominated and picked up their 10 wickets speaks for itself. We also scored hundreds, thanks to Abdullah Shafique’s mature batting and Imam’s back-to-back hundreds. “Our senior pro, Azhar Ali, batted brilliantly, and we gained a lot of momentum, which we will carry into the next Test,” Babar remarked ahead of the second Test.
The bowlers had very little say since the surface was exceedingly one-sided. The Australians did their utmost to limit the hosts’ batting prowess, and they were successful to some degree. Nonetheless, in the end, it wasn’t enough to generate a result.
