David Warner scored 200 in the second Test match between Australia and South Africa at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
David Warner scored a double century on the second day of the Second Test between Australia and South Africa, becoming only the second player to reach that number in his 100th Test match.
Joe Root was the only player to achieve the feat against India in February 2021.
This was his third score Warner scored above his 200 in an international test. Warner braved cramps on his way to reaching double 100 in the Boxing Day Test.
His hamstring problems continued, and the left-handed hitter retired with an injury after reaching a milestone. In Warner’s innings, Australia narrowly outpaced South Africa’s first innings total of 189, extending their lead to 100 runs by the second day.
Warner, 36, was his 10th hitter ever and only the second Australian player in Test history to reach his 100th RBI in his 100th game appearance.
