On Friday, Harpreet Brar made his IPL 2021 debut for Punjab Kings, dismissing Royal Challengers Bangalore’s big three – captain Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and AB de Villiers – to effectively put an end to RCB’s hopes of chasing down Punjab’s 179 in Ahmedabad. These three wickets were also Brar’s first three in the IPL. He began with the major wicket of Kohli (35), who lost his leg stump after missing a delivery after coming down the pitch.
Brar bowled a bail-trimmer on the next delivery, bowling Maxwell (0) and leaving him stunned at his dismissal. De Villiers prevented a hat-trick, but he couldn’t hold Brar at bay for long, as he was caught for three by KL Rahul.
Brar’s performance was appreciated by fans, who praised him for dismissing three of the best T20 players in the world in the same match.
