Over the course of two days of the IPL 2022 auction, the Delhi Capitals (DC) assembled a dangerous squad. After spending well at the event, the franchise has assembled a group of players.
The Capitals made early advances in the auction despite having one of the lowest purse totals among all clubs. After joining many bidding battles and failing to secure a big player, they snatched up David Warner for Rs. 6.25 crore.
They spent a lot of money on all-rounders and pushed hard to get Shardul Thakur and Mitchell Marsh, with the former costing them the most at 10.25 crore.
Mustafizur Rahman, Kuldeep Yadav, KS Bharat, and Kamlesh Nagarkoti were among the smart signings made by the 2021 IPL finalists without much resistance.
The Capitals were able to regain some of its previous players on the second day of the auction, including Ripal Patel, Lalit Yadav, and Pravin Dubey.
DC was also successful in acquiring U-19 World Cup-winning captain Yash Dhull as the auction advanced. They came out on top in yet another bidding war to get the services of the in-form Rovman Powell.
Khaleel Ahmed and Chetan Sakariya were added to the roster, as well as left-arm pacers. Mumbai Indians were interested in both players, but DC won the offer for the bowlers.
