Dinesh Karthik, the wicket-keeper batsman for Kolkata Knight Riders, has been penalised for breaking the IPL’s code of conduct during his team’s second Qualifier against Delhi Capitals, which they won by three wickets. The IPL did not specify the severity of the infringement, although Karthik was spotted dislodging a stump in fury after being dismissed during Wednesday’s high-octane game. Karthik, for one, acknowledged to committing a level one offence and accepted the punishment.
“Dinesh Karthik, the Kolkata Knight Riders wicketkeeper-batsman, has been punished for violating the (IPL’s Code of Conduct during his team’s Qualifier 2 against Delhi Capitals in Sharjah on Wednesday 13th October,” the IPL announced late Wednesday night in a statement.
