IPL 2022 Prediction : Two new teams might be given ‘Special Picks’ in order to purchase top players outside of the Mega Auction.

According to a source, the BCCI may enable the two new teams to purchase elite players outside of the mega auction to assist them create a strong basis before they join the IPL next season. Teams will be able to select a few players from a pool of individuals who have registered for the auction, which will take place prior to the start of the following season.

According to the report, the clubs may be permitted up to four retentions at this time. The Right to Match (RTM) card will be doubtful if there are four retentions. However, nothing has been finalised, and the policy will be communicated to the eight teams later.

The BCCI extended the deadline for acquiring the Invitation to Tender (ITT) document by ten days on Wednesday. According to a BCCI statement, “due to demands from different interested parties,” the deadline for acquiring the ITT document has been extended until October 20, 2021.

The extension was reportedly required when interested parties questioned BCCI about its method for determining an individual’s net worth.

The board has imposed a minimum of Rs 2500 crore net worth for individuals interested in purchasing the club, while corporations must have a revenue of Rs 3000 crore.

Major corporate houses including as Kotak Group, Aurobindo Pharma, Torrent Pharma, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, Birla Group, and Adani Group are interested in participating in the IPL, according to news agency PTI.

Though the basic price for each club has been fixed at Rs 2000 crore, the BCCI is expecting to collect at least Rs 7000 crore.
