Thisara Perera has joined Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2021 phase 2 in UAE. The 32-year-old cricketer announced the news on Instagram. Perera may replace Ben Stokes at the Royals. The franchise is also waiting on Andrew Tye. Andrew Tye, who replaced Jofra Archer, is likely to return.
Jos Buttler has also withdrawn from the remaining 31 UAE matches. The team has already named Ben Stokes as his successor. But all-rounder Ben Stokes is yet to respond. The England all-rounder has taken an extended sabbatical from cricket after injuring his finger in the first round of IPL 2021. Liam Livingstone is yet to announce his comeback. But the England batsman is expected back.
