Punjab Kings have announced the new jersey that they will wear in the IPL in 2022.
The Punjab Kings have announced the jersey that they will wear in the Indian Premier League in 2022. (IPL). The shirt is similar to the one they wore previous season, which was the first time they played under their present name and no longer used “Kings XI Punjab.”
Last season’s presentation of their new shirt drew similarities to the previous Royal Challengers Bangalore outfit, with spinner Yuzvendra Chahal mockingly “welcoming” Chris Gayle and KL Rahul to RCB.
This season, Rahul, who was the captain of PBKS, will head the Lucknow Super Giants. The team’s captain, Mayank Agarwal, has been named. Shikhar Dhawan, who was one of the players bought by PBKS in this year’s super auction, said he is excited to work with Agarwal.
I’m wearing an extremely upbeat expression. It would be beneficial for me to play under Mayank. We have a solid squad, and all of our young players are quite gifted. We’re hoping to do something significant this time. Also, if I have the opportunity to open with Mayank, it would be fantastic for me since it will be a huge responsibility, which I am well prepared to manage,” Dhawan said.
The Punjab Kings will kick off their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season on March 27 at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. PBKS, captained by Mayank Agarwal, will want to get off to a winning start in the competition by defeating IPL 2016 runners-up RCB.
PBKS will play Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Gujarat Giants twice each in Group B. They will also face their Group A opponents, Delhi Capitas, twice, as well as the other clubs in the group once.
