Cameron Green became the second highest paid player in the IPL with Mumbai Indians at Rs. 17.50 crores.
Cameron Green signed for Mumbai at the IPL 2023 auction in Kochi on Friday, becoming the second highest-paid player in the IPL.
Bidding for the Australian player started at his Rs 20 million between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. Prices jumped above the rupee. 7 billion in no time.
Delhi Capitals also entered the race when the total crossed the Rs. Billion. The Capitals and Indians battled over the player even over $1.5 billion. The Mumbai Indians retained Green as his price surpassed multiple record awards and got the player. “Green is someone we have been following for a couple of years and we thought he was exactly what we needed. He fits the age profile just right for us. I was looking for,” Akash Ambani said.
Green has moved him up to number two on the list of the most expensive auction purchases in the IPL. Sam curran signed with the Punjab Kings for $1.85 billion at the same auction. Green made her debut for Australia in April 2022 with T20Is. In eight games, Green has 173.75 strikes and he has two of his 50+ points. Against India in November he was 50 of 50, in 30 balls he was 61 and in 21 he was 52.
With the ball, Green took 5 wickets in 7 innings. His average is 35.60 for him and the economy is 8.90 for him. The all-rounder was included in Australia’s T20 World Cup squad after Josh Inglis suffered an injury.
The 2023 IPL will be Green’s first tournament appearance. He’s Big He’s Bash He’s played for the Perth Scorchers in the league, but he’s only played nine games so far.
