IPL HISTORY : MS Dhoni has played 200 matches as the captain of the Chennai Super Kings

MS Dhoni, the former Indian captain, captained Chennai Super Kings for the 200th time on Monday (CSK). In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Dhoni accomplished the feat when he took the field against Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium. Dhoni has appeared for CSK in the IPL and the now-defunct Champions League T20. He has 207 IPL matches under his belt. As Dhoni took the field against Punjab Kings last week, it was his 200th game for CSK. Suresh Raina captained CSK in a Champions League T20 match in 2012.

During the 2016-17 season, when the Chennai Super Kings were serving a two-year ban from the cash-rich league, the former India captain also served Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) and played 30 IPL matches.

With 4,632 runs, the 39-year-old, who has led CSK to three IPL championships, is eighth on the IPL’s all-time run scorers list.

Sanju Samson, the captain of the Rajasthan Royals, won the toss and chose to bowl against CSK.

Since winning their respective last games, both teams are fielding an unchanged XI.
