The much-anticipated IPL 2022 super auction is set to take place in December, and while the BCCI has yet to make an official statement about the date, sources suggest it will take place in the first week of December. Before the auction, the BCCI has asked the teams to submit a list of players they want to keep. Franchises are permitted to keep only four players under the BCCI’s retention clause, and they must submit their final list by November 30. According to a report in Indian Express, the Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals are close to finalising the list of players who would be retained.
MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Moeen Ali/ Sam Curran are the CSK players.
Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Prtihvi Shaw, and Andre Nortje are the DC players.
Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Kieron Pollard, and Ishan Kishan (MI) (most likely)
Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Varun Chakravarthy, and Venkatesh Iyer are the KKR players.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have opted to keep captain MS Dhoni for another three years, according to sources. The Indian Express, on the other hand, said that ace batsman KL Rahul will leave PBKS and may be named captain of the new Lucknow club. It’s worth noting that two new franchises for the IPL 2022 season have been announced: Lucknow and Ahmedabad. According to sources, Rahul has accepted the deal given by the Lucknow franchise.
