Before the auction, the BCCI has asked the teams to submit a list of players they want to keep. Franchises are permitted to keep only four players under the BCCI’s retention clause, and they must submit their final list by November 30. According to a report in Indian Express, the Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals are close to finalising the list of players who would be retained.

MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Moeen Ali/ Sam Curran are the CSK players.

Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Prtihvi Shaw, and Andre Nortje are the DC players.

Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Kieron Pollard, and Ishan Kishan (MI) (most likely)

Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Varun Chakravarthy, and Venkatesh Iyer are the KKR players.
