Kasi Viswanathan, CEO of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), provided an update on Ruturaj Gaikwad and Deepak Chahar’s fitness issues, both of whom are now undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA for their separate ailments. While Gaikwad recovers from a wrist ailment, Chahar continues to rehab his quadriceps rupture, which forced him to miss the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka.

On March 26, CSK will face KKR in their opening game of the IPL 2022 season. Kasi Viswanathan provided an update on the two crucial players before of the team’s first game. While Gaikwad was retained, Chennai bought Chchar for 14 crores in the IPL 2022 auction.

Kasi Viswanathan, CEO of CSK, is unaware of their current fitness.

CSK CEO Kashi Vishwanathan stated on Sunday, “We are not aware of their present fitness level and would not be able to inform you when they would join the team.”

“Obviously, the BCCI has promised us that they would notify us once they are match-fit. They’re now at the NCA,” Vishwanathan stated.

At the Lalabhai Contractor Stadium, where the Indian women’s team plays a lot of games, the CSK players, including MS Dhoni, are preparing for the new season.

Meanwhile, Gaikwad and Chahar have been instrumental in CSK’s recent IPL victory. While the pacer has been with the team since 2018, Gaikwad has been with CSK since 2020 and was a member of the team that won the IPL for the fourth time in 2021. In IPL 2021, he also won the Orange Cap after scoring 635 runs. The batter was also one of the four players retained by the franchise ahead of the IPL super auction in 2022.
