IPL Prediction : Arjun Tendulkar of the Mumbai Indians has been ruled out of the tournament, and Simarjeet Singh has been named as his replacement.

The Mumbai Indians named a substitute for injured all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar on Wednesday. The franchise stated that Arjun has been replaced by Delhi seamer Simarjeet Singh. “Mumbai Indians have recruited Simarjeet Singh as an injured substitute for Arjun Tendulkar for the remainder of their IPL 2021 season,” the team said in an official release. “The right arm medium fast bowler has begun practising with the squad following completion of the required quarantine as per IPL standards,” it said.

The Mumbai Indians have not disclosed the nature of Arjun Tendulkar’s injury, which has prompted them to find a successor for the balance of the season.

Earlier this year, the reigning champions signed Arjun Tendulkar for a basic fee of Rs 20 lakh.

Arjun, who has bowled several times in India nets, was not selected to play in this year’s IPL. In January 2021, the left-arm bowler made his senior Mumbai T20 debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Simarjeet Singh, his successor, recently travelled to Sri Lanka with Team India for a six-game white-ball trip. The Delhi seamer did not play, but he did get to rub shoulders with players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar, who have been regulars in India’s white-ball outfit.

After their win over the Punjab Kings on Tuesday, the Mumbai Indians are now sixth on the points table in the ongoing IPL 2021. This year, the Rohit Sharma-led team is aiming for a record-extending sixth IPL victory.
