IPL PREDICTION : ‘It was a scary moment,’ admits KKR’s Shivam Mavi on the IPL 2022 super auction bidding war for him.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) purchased young Indian pacer Shivam Mavi for Rs 7.25 crore at the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 super auction in Bengaluru. Mavi was one of the young Indian cricketers that helped India win the 2018 U19 World Cup in New Zealand. KKR purchased the breakout talent for Rs 3 crore at the IPL 2018 mega auction. His increased valuation in the big auction in 2022 reflects his rapid rise in just a few years.

Mavi recently opened out to DNA in an exclusive interview on the bidding war for him at the mega auction and why he thought he was so appealing to many brands. “When teams were bidding for me, it was a scary period,” the KKR player stated. “Every IPL franchise wanted an uncapped Indian fast bowler who could bat a little bit as well, which is why they were bidding for me.” But I’m pleased to be back with KKR,” he continued.
Mavi also expressed his joy at returning to KKR, stating that he had a good bond with the team. “I am delighted to be returning to KKR” (Kolkata Knight Riders).

“I’ve been with the franchise since 2018, and I have good bonds with my teammates and coworkers,” he told DNA.
Mavi further stated that bowling in the IPL for three years has given him the confidence to bowl in any situation. “I also learned a few modifications and am putting them to good use,” he said.
After the IPL mega auction, Avesh Khan shares what Rishabh Pant told him.
“When I looked at the combination towards the commencement of the IPL auction, I was not very happy,” he said when asked how he felt about the KKR team combination after the IPL 2022 mega auction. However, following the big auction, I can confidently state that we are among the strongest teams. The management will now choose the captain of this team for the following season.”
