COVID-19 instances in the bio-secure bubbles forced IPL 2021 to be halted in mid-May. Coaches Michael Hussey and Lakshmipathy Balaji both tested positive for the deadly illness.
Before the season ended, CSK had won five games and lost just two. The Delhi Capitals (DC) led the points table.
On September 19, Dhoni’s side will face reigning champions MI at Dubai International Stadium. The CSK against MI match will also be the IPL 2021 restart match.
