The tale of Aliya Riaz’s cricket career is typical of that of many other Pakistani women players. She has always been a huge cricket fan and aspired to be a player. She didn’t discover many female pals who were into the game, however. She therefore began playing with the guys. Even though her father didn’t object much, one of her brothers didn’t like the idea of watching her sister play cricket.

The brother in question enjoyed the game a lot as well. His sister plays with the males, his pals would frequently tease him, and the other family members would then repeat the joke. Riaz, though, proceeded to play the game every day and paid no attention to any of it. In college, she continued to play cricket and excelled as one of the top players.

It was easy for Riaz to communicate with her family members. They didn’t mind that she was good at cricket, but they would only allow it if it didn’t interfere with her academic progress. As a result, Riaz excelled in both academics and cricket, becoming the greatest among her classmates.

Childhood & Major Teams

Riaz was born in Rawalpindi, Punjab, on September 24, 1992. She eventually moved to Islamabad to pursue further education. She has apologized to Rawalpindi Under-19 Women and the Higher Education Commission Women. She has also participated in matches for the PCB Blasters, PCB Dolphins, Federal Capital Women, State Bank of Pakistan Women, Rawalpindi Women, and Knights Women.

Residential Career

According to the PCB website, Riaz played her debut T20 match on December 3, 2010, during the PCB National Under-19 Women’s Championship 2010/11. She batted for Rawalpindi Under-19s Women, where she amassed 11 runs. Unfortunately, she was only able to bowl one person over. At the 2014 Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah Women’s Cricket Championship Seniors, she made her List A debut. She only had the opportunity to bowl one over this time around and was unable to bat.

Worldwide Career

Aliya Riaz made her debut for Pakistan against Australia Women in Brisbane in August 2014. She used the bat to score 4 runs throughout the game, but she was unable to roll her arms. A week later, she made her T20I debut against the same opponent. She used the bat to provide only one run to the game that was played at Gold Coast. She was once again denied the opportunity to bowl. She participated in the West Indies 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20.

Quotes & Stats

She has participated in 27 ODI matches so far, scoring 409 runs with a strike rate of over 60 and an average slightly under 20. Additionally, she has seven wickets. In 38 T20Is, she has taken 15 wickets and amassed 370 runs at an average of over 15 and a strike rate of slightly under 90.

She will serve as a pinch hitter for Pakistan. She remarked, “We are working hard to increase our power striking and practicing on cement wickets as well,” in an interview with Geo TV. I am a versatile person. In the World Cup, my goal is to perform well with bat and ball for my side. Perhaps doing that will help me set a record for the fastest fifty or fastest hundred, but more than anything, I want to bat for my team with a greater strike rate every time I am in the middle.

She said, “I am enthusiastic about the World Cup,” in reference to the 2018 Women’s World T20. I’ve participated in a World Cup before, and I’ll attempt to utilize that experience and the lessons I gained to perform well for my nation.
