Yashasvi Jaiswal, the opening batter for Rajasthan Royals (RR), is excited for the upcoming IPL 2022 season, believing that the squad is capable of going all the way and winning their second title.
Along with Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler, Jaiswal was one of three players retained by Rajasthan ahead of the major auction. He had a strike rate of 148 in the previous season, which was held in the United Arab Emirates.
“I’m excited for this season and feel confident in my abilities. We’ve put together a squad that has all it takes to win the championship.”
We have a squad that can generate performances on the field with a good mix of hitters and bowlers, but the most important thing for us right now is to start well and build momentum,” Jaiswal said in a statement provided by RR.
“I need to keep using my instincts and attempting to dominate.” (Yashasvi Jaiswal)
Jaiswal further said that he would be responsible for Buttler’s performance at the top. The goal of the openers is to get their teams off to a solid start and make the most of the powerplay.
“We all know we’re here to win, but we can only do that if we’re brave on the field.” I know there will be moments when I have to make bold choices for the team, and those decisions may not always work out, but I have to trust my instincts and attempt to take control of the situation.”
Of course, I was unhappy (that I didn’t have a chance to play), but I’m excited to use the IPL to demonstrate what I can do. “I’m certain that if I perform well, I’ll earn a spot on the (Mumbai) squad,” Jaiswal said.
Rajasthan will play Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their first match on March 29.
