Zaman put up 183 runs in four innings, averaging 63 and striking out 143.18 batters. His finest innings came against the defending champions Karachi Kings, when he smashed a 54-ball 83 to help Qalandars chase down a target of 187.
Fakhar Zaman maintained his success throughout the South African white-ball series, scoring 302 runs at 100.67 in three ODIs and 95 runs at 47.5 in three T20Is.
The PSL is ready to begin in the United Arab Emirates next month, and the Qalandars opener is excited to continue his hot streak.
“In recent months, I’ve been happy with my batting form for both Qalandars and Pakistan. The Karachi leg went well for us, as we are joint equal on points with the table toppers despite a poor net run rate,” remarked Fakhar Zaman in a PCB press release.
From the first week of June, the second phase of the PSL will be held at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
While Fakhar Zaman’s previous experience playing in the Emirates will come in helpful, the harsh weather will be a test for everyone involved, according to him.
Nonetheless, Zaman is concentrating on getting his side off to a strong start, as they have only lost one of their last four games, and converting those beginnings into massive match-winning knocks.
“Over the years, we’ve gathered a lot of knowledge with UAE pitches. The conditions in Abu Dhabi will largely be batting favourable, but the grounds will also provide something to the fast bowlers, so it’ll be a nice match. The weather will be difficult, but that will only motivate us to work more. My goal is to continue to provide the squad solid starts and to play lengthy innings for my team whenever the opportunity arises,” stated Fakhar Zaman.
