The IPL table toppers Delhi Capitals will start fresh in the second round in the UAE, according to assistant coach Pravin Amre.
Suspended in May due to rising COVID-19 instances and various infections within the IPL bio-bubble, the T20 league’s second leg will continue in the UAE on September 19.
The Capitals lead the points standings with 12 points from eight games.
“We have to start over with the rest of the season.” “We’ll be playing in different circumstances and wickets,” Amre said in a media release.
“We want to start fresh after a fantastic first half of the competition.”
“We will try to play with the same vigour as we did in the IPL 2021 opener,” he continued.
The Capitals have started their pre-season training at the ICC Academy in front of assistant coaches Amre and Ajay Ratra.
Amre stated that the team is looking to adapt to the UAE conditions and wickets.

Shreyas Iyer, who missed the first half of the season owing to a shoulder injury, arrived in Dubai a week early to practise with Amre.
Amre stated Iyer is fully fit and striking the ball nicely in the nets.
