Today IPL Toss Load : D.C. sees second half as a new start, says assistant coach Pravin Amre

The IPL table toppers Delhi Capitals will start fresh in the second round in the UAE, according to assistant coach Pravin Amre.

Suspended in May due to rising COVID-19 instances and various infections within the IPL bio-bubble, the T20 league’s second leg will continue in the UAE on September 19.

The Capitals lead the points standings with 12 points from eight games.

“We have to start over with the rest of the season.” “We’ll be playing in different circumstances and wickets,” Amre said in a media release.

“We want to start fresh after a fantastic first half of the competition.”

“We will try to play with the same vigour as we did in the IPL 2021 opener,” he continued.

The Capitals have started their pre-season training at the ICC Academy in front of assistant coaches Amre and Ajay Ratra.

Amre stated that the team is looking to adapt to the UAE conditions and wickets.

We need to get the players acquainted to the pitches and conditions here in the UAE,” he said. “We appreciate the DC administration notifying us early so we may prepare effectively for the conditions.”

Shreyas Iyer, who missed the first half of the season owing to a shoulder injury, arrived in Dubai a week early to practise with Amre.

Amre stated Iyer is fully fit and striking the ball nicely in the nets.

“Coming back from injury is difficult for any cricketer.” “Our entire crew, especially Rajinikanth Sivagnanam, Dhananjay Kaushik, and Patrick Farhart, worked tirelessly during Shreyas’ recuperation.”

“The National Cricket Academy also helped Shreyas recuperate. He needed to regain his shoulder strength and he had been hitting the ball as long as anyone in the nets.”
