Finn Allen has been quarantined at the team’s hotel in Bangladesh and is said to have mild symptoms.

Finn Allen, a Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman, tested positive for COVID-19 upon arriving in Bangladesh on Tuesday (August 24). In England’s new Hundred competition, Allen represented the Birmingham Phoenix and passed all pre-departure tests until testing positive 48 hours later in Dhaka.

He’s been quarantined at the team’s hotel and is said to have mild symptoms. Denis Allen is being treated by the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s chief medical officer, and will be watched during his quarantine by BlackCaps doctor Pat McHugh.

He can rejoin his teammates after therapy, isolation, and two COVID-19 tests negative in a row.

Mike Sandle, the Wellington Firebirds manager, said he was in frequent contact with Allen from Dhaka and was convinced the Bangladesh authorities were treating him well.

“It’s a shame for Finn. In the meantime, he’s doing well and should be cleared to go home as soon as possible “Sandle issued a statement.

Sandle said Allen flew from Heathrow on an Emirates flight and team officials had alerted the airline and his family in New Zealand.

“We appreciate the professionalism of the Bangladesh cricket administration. They’re taking it seriously “Sandle.

Sandle said the New Zealand-based BlackCaps had just landed in Dhaka and would now be isolated for a minimum of three days.

Allen’s replacement in the squad has yet to be decided. The first of five T20s between New Zealand and Bangladesh is on September 1.
