Anil Kumble, the head coach of the Punjab Kings (PBKS), said that he never wants anybody to change their natural batting technique, which includes former captain and opener KL Rahul.
Kumble said before of the IPL 2022 season that this season’s openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal, are natural attackers who would be expected to go all-out and attack.
“I don’t believe we ever intended any athlete to be restrained.” I don’t believe you can take a cautious approach in this style. A Mayank or Shikhar (Dhawaninnate )’s aptitude is to attack.”
“I don’t believe there will be any strategy to control the rest of the players’ natural inclinations.” In an interview with The Hindustan Times, Kumble said, “That has never been my attitude at all.”

When asked about the auction strategy, Kumble said that the goal is to constantly battle for players who would bring high long-term profits. Before entering the auction, the franchisees devise a plan and do their hardest to carry it out.
“For each of the ten franchises, it’s a new beginning. I believe we have devised a plan to play the kind of cricket we want to play. We’re thrilled to be able to recruit individuals that naturally fit into that approach rather than forcing someone to play a certain position.”
