Shreevats Goswami Bio

Shreevats Goswami is an Indian cricketer who was born on May 18, 1989, in Kolkata, West Bengal. He is a left-handed wicketkeeper batsman who plays First-Class cricket for Bengal. Goswami’s playstyle is best suited to shorter versions of the game, and he has yet to make an appearance in test cricket.

Career

Domestic Career

Goswami began playing cricket when he was 11 years old and went on to play domestic cricket for the Bengal under-19 side. In November 2008, Goswami made his first-class cricket debut against Madhya Pradesh in Gwalior. In the first innings, he scored 22 runs off 37 balls, but he struggled in the second and was dismissed for a duck in 7 balls. He debuted for Bengal in List A versus ‘Delhi’ in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, in 2008. In addition, he played in the ‘Indian Under-19 Cricket World Cup.’

Due to the presence of Wriddhiman Saha, who is also a wicketkeeper batsman, Goswami has struggled to cement his spot in the Bengal side. In the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy, however, he reached a new career high with a total of 227. Because of his strong domestic performances, the Bengal’s rising star was picked for India’s ODI series against New Zealand A in 2017. IPL Career

On May 19, 2008, Goswami made his Indian Premier League debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Delhi Daredevils. He scored a half-century off 42 balls after coming in at the centre of the batting order. Delhi, on the other hand, won the match by 5 wickets. After three seasons with the RCB squad in the IPL, Goswami transferred to KKR for the fourth season. In seven matches with the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2011 IPL, he only managed a top score of 22. The Rajasthan Royals bought him for the fifth season after that. For the 2018 IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad paid Rs. 1 crore INR for Goswami.Royal Challengers Bangalore and Hyderabad competed fiercely in his auction, resulting in a 500 percent rise in the base price of Rs. 20 lakhs.
