Debut
Sachin made his international debut against Pakistan at the age of 16 in 1989, scoring 15 runs before being bowled by Waqar Younis. In his ODI debut against Pakistan in Gujranwala in 1989, he was dismissed for a duck by Waqar.
Rise to Glory
Sachin Tendulkar is a courageous batsman with impeccable timing and footwork. He had a lot of success in the school leagues and domestic competitions, earning him an international call up.
In the 1988-89 Ranji season, he was the top run scorer with 583 runs at an average of 67. He scored a 75-ball 96-run knock against Haryana in the 1990-91 Ranji Trophy final, giving him a chance to win the trophy.

Captaincy
In 1996, Sachin was appointed captain of the Indian team, replacing Azharuddin. However, as a captain, he was a complete disappointment. After being found guilty of tampering with the seam of the ball in a test match against South Africa in 2001, he was given a one-match suspension.

Sachin Tendulkar owns almost all of the batting records in history. In Tests and ODIs, he scored 15,921 and 18,426 runs, respectively, and remains the only player to score over 30,000 runs in international cricket.
With a total of 100 centuries, he holds the record for most centuries in international cricket. He is the Indian cricketer with the most 200 test appearances. He was the first batsman in ODI history to score a double century.
Club Career
In 1992, he played for Yorkshire and scored 1070 runs at an average of 46 in 16 first-class matches.
From 2008 to 2013, he played for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, scoring 2334 runs at a strike rate of 120 with one century.
Retirement
He declared his retirement from limited overs cricket after a disappointing result against England in 2012. He went on to play test cricket for the rest of his life. After playing his last Test match against the West Indies in 2013, he retired from test cricket at his home ground, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
