Michael Neser Bio

Michael Neser is a talented cricketer from Australia who was born in South Africa. He was born in Pretoria on March 29, 1990. He is a right-handed batting all-rounder and a right-arm medium pace bowler.

Background

Neser arrived in Australia when he was ten years old. Only a few years, he was selected for Queensland’s U19 team. In 2010, he made his First Class and List A debuts a year back.

He was a real all-around player. He gave the team versatility by being able to bat anywhere on the field. With the ball, he had good pace and could pick up wickets in patches.

His domestic results secured him contracts in the Big Bash League (BBL) and the Indian Premier League (IPL). He debuted on the world level eight years after making his domestic debut.

Debut

On June 13, 2018, Michael made his ODI debut for Australia against England at the Kennington Oval in London. Australia batted first and only scored 214 runs before being bowled out in 47 overs. Just 6 points were scored by the rookie. With three wickets in hand and 36 balls to spare, England chased down the mark. In 8 overs, Neser returned with figures of 2/46.

Club career

Neser is also a member of Queensland’s domestic team, featuring in the Sheffield Shield and other domestic limited-overs competitions.

In the 2011/12 BBL season, he was a member of the Brisbane Heat. In the tournament, he scored 55 runs and took 7 wickets in six matches.

After that, he joined the Adelaide Strikers for the 2018-19 season. In 48 matches for them, he scored 286 runs and took 48 wickets. From the 2019 season onwards, Neser will play for the Sydney Thunder.

He only appeared in the IPL for one season. In 2013, he played for the Kings XI Punjab. During the entire season, he only participated in one game. In his four overs, he was crushed for 62 runs without taking a wicket. He was not given the opportunity to bat.
