Virat Kohli responded quickly to the development as he took to social media to congratulate the RCB family.

Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli was delighted with the news that his franchise won the women’s premier, his one of his five franchises in his league. The development was announced by BCCI on Wednesday as the Mumbai Indians and Delhi were the other two IPL teams to win the bid. Aside from them, Adani Sportstline and Capri Global were his two other contenders to form a team for the highly anticipated league.

She has been involved with RCB since 2008 when she formed IPL. He got off to a slow start to his IPL his journey with RCB, batting 15 he managed just 165 from 12 innings. Despite his slow start, Kohli was the only player RCB retained in 2011 and was also named vice-captain. Kohli took over as RCB captain after two years before stepping down at the end of the 2021 season.

Among the five, Ahmedabad was sold for the highest price ( ₹1289 crore), followed by Mumbai ( ₹901 crore), Bengaluru ( ₹901 crore), Delhi ( ₹810 crore) and Lucknow ( ₹757 crore).

According to a report by ESPNCricinfo, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal said finalizing the schedule and itinerary for the first edition was a “work in progress.”

There will be a player auction similar to the men’s, but details have yet to be announced.
