Jason Behrendorff Bio

Jason Paul Behrendorff is an Australian cricketer who represents his country in the sport. He is a fast bowler who also represents Western Australia in domestic cricket. Jason currently plays with the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League and the Perth Scorchers in the BBL.

Background

Jason was born in Camden, New South Wales, Australia, on April 20, 1990. He grew up in Canberra and played junior and senior football for the Australian Capital Territory. He bats right-handed and is mainly a left-arm medium bowler. His almost six-and-a-half-foot height makes him incredibly dangerous and impossible to confront.

International Career

Jason Behrendorff made his international debut for Australia against India in a T20I match on October 7, 2017. In T20 cricket, he was assigned the number 88. Jason made his ODI debut for Australia against India on January 12, 2019. He was given the number 227 ODI hat.

Domestic Career

For the 2010-11 season, Jason Behrendorff was moved to Western Australia from the Australian Capital Territory, and he made his state-level debut the following season. In the BBL, he made his debut for the Perth Scorchers in the 2012-13 season and was a core member of the squad that won two championships in a row in 2013-14 and 2014-15. At the 2018 IPL auction, he was purchased by the Mumbai Indians and currently plays for the Mumbai-based franchise in the Indian Premier League.

World Cup 2019

Jason Behrendorff has been selected to Australia’s 15-man squad for the 2019 ICC CRICKET WORLD CUP. Many people were shocked by his pick over Josh Hazlewood. Still, given his current form and previous ODI scores against Pakistan, he’s a better bet than Josh, who has been hampered by injuries.
