Mohammad Hafeez, a Pakistani cricket player, was born on October 17, 1980 in Sargodha, Punjab, and is a former T20I captain of the Pakistan cricket team. Hafeez usually opens the batting and helps to structure the bowling. In the T20 series between 2012 and 2013, he was ranked as the best all-rounder by the ICC Player Rankings. He is known for his astute batting as well as his forceful shot plays when needed. With Nasir Jamshed, he had a record opening partnership of 224 runs.
Background
Hafeez, also known as The Professor, played in Bhera and was one of a few young all-rounders who the Pakistani cricket team swung to after their disappointing showing in the 2003 World Cup, when they were knocked out in the first round. He was the fourth international player to be named to the Caribbean Premier League, and the first Pakistani to be named to the latest Twenty20 tournament.
Debut
Hafeez made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe on 3 April 2003, and his test debut against Bangladesh on 20 August 2003. His frame with both bat and ball was unreliable, and he was dismissed from the Test squad and, as a result, from the ODI team in late 2003. He remained on the outskirts of an analysis in 2004 after strong local exhibits and a display of decent frame for the Pakistan A side. In 2005, Hafeez returned to the ODI side, and despite his mediocre batsmanship, his bowling was outstanding. Hafeez scored his first century for Pakistan in the 2006 series in Australia.
Rise to Glory
In 2011, he received a total of ten Man-of-the-Match awards across all forms of international cricket, becoming just the third player in ODI history to score 1000 runs and take 30 wickets in the same calendar year. He scored 105 off 113 balls against India in Bangladesh on March 18, 2012, and shared a 224-run partnership with Nasir Jamshed.
In March 2012, against Bangladesh in Dhaka, he scored his fourth ODI century. In June 2012, he also scored 196 against Sri Lanka in the second Test at Colombo, which was his best test performance. Hafeez was named to Pakistan’s World Cup squad in 2015, but was forced to withdraw six days before the tournament due to calf injury. Nasir Jamshed took his place as his successor.

Captaincy
In May 2012, he was appointed captain of the Pakistan T20 team. Pakistan reached the semi-finals of the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka in September 2012, where they were defeated by the home team.
He tied for the most T20 victories by a Pakistani captain and the most away series victories by a Pakistani captain. Pakistan managed to climb to second place in the world rankings under his captaincy. He also became the first Pakistani captain to reach three consecutive fifties and became Pakistan’s leading run scorer in T20s.
