Rahat Ali is a Pakistani cricketer who plays for the national team. He was born in Multan on September 12, 1988.
He’s a left-arm pacer who can strike the deck hard to get the ball moving off the wicket.
Background
He began his cricket career in college with Multan Cricket Club. In the 2008-09 season, he was assigned to Northern Gas Pipelines Limited.
He took 61 wickets for Khan Research Laboratories and Baluchistan in the 2011-12 season, which marked a turning point in his career.
He established reverse swing in his bowling, allowing him to become his team’s leading wicket taker.
Soon after, he was selected to make his international debut.
Debut
Rahat made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka on June 9, 2012. He only bowled four overs and did not take a wicket. For the next match, he was benched.
Rahat was chosen by Pakistani selectors for the 2013 series against South Africa because of his ability to swing the ball. He made his Test debut at Wanderers, but failed to pick up a wicket.
He made a return at Centurion after being withdrawn for the next test. He was the only bowler to bother the Proteas, with figures of 6-127.
In the second innings of Pakistan’s loss in the second test in 2013, he dismissed five Zimbabwean batsmen.
Low Points
Rahat Ali, a talented fast bowler, could not be a regular part of Pakistan’s fast bowling pool. He made his One-Day International debut in 2012, but he has only played 14 ODIs so far.
He was credited with dropping Shane Watson’s catch, which resulted in Pakistan’s elimination from the 2015 World Cup.
