IPL 2021 : After completing quarantine, Kieron Pollard begins training with the Mumbai Indians

Kieron Pollard of the West Indies started training with the Mumbai Indians squad for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 on Wednesday. Pollard wore the Mumbai Indians’ jersey to make a grand entrance. “Pollard is here,” the all-rounder said in a video posted by the Mumbai Indians, in which fans could be seen asking about the West Indies cricketer’s whereabouts. Pollard had just completed his seven-day quarantine and was ready to practise, according to ANI earlier in the day.

“He left the West Indies and went to Chennai to join the MI team. He had just completed his quarantine time as per the BCCI Standard Operating Procedure, which is why he was absent from MI training activities “ANI was told by a source close to the West Indies all-rounder.

The IPL SOP only exempted players who played in the limited-overs series between India and England and then transferred directly to their respective IPL bio-bubbles from mandatory quarantine.

On Tuesday, the Mumbai Indians had a scare when scout and wicket-keeping consultant Kiran More tested positive for COVID-19. The evaluation on the players and the rest of the support staff, however, came back negative. However, the Mumbai Indians’ training session for Tuesday has been cancelled as a precaution.

The defending champion Mumbai Indians will play Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday.
