Afridi, 41, has been succeeded by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Asif Afridi, a left-arm spinner. In Abu Dhabi, the 34-year-old will join the Sultans team.

“I felt lower back pain while preparing for the remainder of the HBL Pakistan Super League 6 and had to see a doctor,” Afridi said. “Unfortunately, I’ve been told to rest and will be unable to go to Abu Dhabi with my squad Multan Sultans.”

“I’m sad that I won’t be able to participate in the competition, but my best wishes, love, and prayers are with the squad as they compete for the championship.”

In other reports, Islamabad United has completed their 20-player squad by signing left-handed batsman Umar Amin and West Indies opener Brandon King. Hazratullah Zazai of Afghanistan has joined Peshawar Zalmi’s team, with Sameen Gul and Khalid Usman of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa serving as backup players.
