The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) arrived in Dubai on Friday to prepare for the second phase of the IPL in 2021. Their main international acquisition Faf Du Plessis’ fitness is a source of concern for them as they begin their preparations for the IPL in the UAE. After suffering a concussion, Du Plessis withdrew from The Hundred on Friday. He will join the CSK squad at a later date.

After failing to recuperate from a concussion, Faf du Plessis announced on Instagram on Friday that he will not be participating in The Hundred. During a match against Peshawar Zalmi in Abu Dhabi in June, the CSK star’s head clashed with Quetta Gladiators teammate Mohammad Hasnain’s knee. He was had to withdraw from the rest of the tournament because to his injuries, and he returned to South Africa before heading to Croatia to quarantine ahead of the Hundred.
Faf du Plessis was ruled out for three games and was scheduled to return, but will now return to South Africa. He will travel to the Caribbean for the CPL T20 if he recovers completely. The Superchargers confirmed in a statement that Dane Vilas, who was drafted in for the three games, will continue to fill in for him.
