CPL Prediction : Isolating Carlos Brathwaite risks missing the CPL debut

West Indian all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite may miss Jamaica Tallawahs’ CPL opener after being compelled to self-isolate due to a Covid-19 infection on his journey to St Kitts and Nevis.

Brathwaite, who travelled down from England to lead Manchester Originals in the Hundred tournament, said he was advised to isolate and was “in the dark” about the details.

On Friday, Jamaica faces the Saint Lucia Kings.
No official notification of day one or quarantine period has been received yet, the 33-year-old stated.

“I’m just skipping in my room and doing sit-ups, hoping to be physically ready.”

Brathwaite said his Covid-19 tests were negative “to my knowledge.”

On Tuesday, the CPL reported two coronavirus cases, while 255 newcomers were cleared to enter the bio-secure bubble.

“CPL flagged the two positive cases while in-room quarantine was still in effect,” event director Michael Hall said.

“The tournament bubble is intact,” he said, without naming the positives.
