MS Dhoni’s future with the Chennai Super Kings is still up in the air. Dhoni, who announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020, has struggled with the bat for the previous two years, and given his age, there’s a potential he’ll be out of the IPL as well as a CSK player by the next season.
CSK has performed better in the IPL this season than previous, having advanced to the playoffs as one of the two teams. However, if Dhoni is unable to contribute with the bat, it is unclear if he would continue to captain CSK next season.
Dhoni addressed his future, revealing the probable location of his final match as a CSK player.
“You may still come see me play for CSK and that can be my final game,” he said. So you’ll still have the chance to wish me farewell. “Hopefully, we’ll travel to Chennai and play my final game there, and we’ll be able to meet supporters there,” Dhoni remarked while engaging with fans at the virtual 75th anniversary festivities of ‘India Cements.’
“We are a process-driven team; we believe in the process, and we know that if we follow the process, if we execute the plans effectively, if we do the tiny things well, we will achieve the intended outcome; we also know that the result is a byproduct, and that keeps us calm,” he said.
“We love one other’s company and live in the moment.” We know that if we play to our full ability, we will be able to defeat our opponents. If they want to beat us, they need to play better cricket.”
In response to a query regarding whether he would be interested in pursuing a career in Bollywood after retiring from cricket, Dhoni stated emphatically that it is not his cup of tea.
“It’s no secret that Bollywood isn’t my cup of tea. In terms of ads, I am more than willing to participate. When it comes to movies, I believe it is a very difficult job to handle. “I would delegate it to the actors because they are extremely excellent at it.” I’m going to stay with cricket. “Advertising is the closest I can get to acting, and nothing more,” he said.
