Saurabh Sunil Tiwary is an Indian cricketer who has played One Day Internationals for his country and mostly plays first-class cricket. He is a left-handed batsman who bats in the middle order and at first appeared to be a mirror copy of MS Dhoni. He was born in Jamshedpur, Bihar, India, on December 30, 1989.
Career
Domestic Career
Saurabh began playing cricket when he was eleven years old. He started to gain a reputation and, before long, he was playing for Jharkhand’s Under-14 side. His junior results drew attention, and he made his Ranji Trophy debut in 2006-07. The most enjoyable part of my career so far has been the early stages. He was a central member of the Under-19 squad that won the Under-19 World Cup in 2008. He went on to score three centuries in the Ranji season the following year, attracting the attention of the national selectors. Tiwary had a fantastic Ranji Trophy season in 2015-16. With a double-century and five fifties, he was among the season’s top-15 run scorers.
IPL Career
In the 2008 Indian Premier League, Tiwary was a member of the Mumbai Indians. In the IPL 2010, he became a regular player for them and was nicknamed a left-handed version of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The 2010 IPL was the culmination of his career. He was a crucial player for the Mumbai Indians during the season, and he helped the team reach the final. He hit 419 runs in 16 games, averaging over 29 runs per game, and was named the tournament’s Best Under-23 Player.
Royal Challengers Bangalore signed him for USD 1.6 million in 2011. He also had an average season for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2011 IPL. He stayed with the same team for the next two seasons before being released in 2014.
He was signed by the Delhi Daredevils for 70 lakh rupees in 2014, but he was unable to play due to injury. Following his injury, he was substituted in the squad by Imran Tahir.
He was a part of the latest Rising Pune Supergiants squad in the 2016 season. In 2017, he returned to Mumbai Indians for a fee of 30 lakhs, and in January 2018, he was again purchased at auction by Mumbai Indians. He was acquired by the Mumbai Indians in the 2020 IPL auction ahead of the Indian Premier League.
International Career
On the 20th of October in 2010, Tiwary made his international debut against Australia in Vizag. The game was nearly over by the time he arrived on the pitch. At 12 runs off 17 balls, he was still not out. In his subsequent opportunities on the international stage, he struggled to make an impression and persuade the selectors, and he ultimately lost his spot in the team.
