Yesterday cricbuzz prediction: Shorna Akter covered in Bangladesh squad for T20 World Cup

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has included under-19 batsman Shona Akter in an uncapped 15-man squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa in February.

Shawna will also be joined by her three other U19 teammates. Disha Biswas, Marufa Akter and Dilara Akter were part of the national team during her tour of New Zealand.

The four cricketers are currently competing in the first edition of the ICC Women’s World Under-19 Cup in South Africa.

Women’s selector Monjurul Islam said she chose the four cricketers based on her performance in the ongoing ICC U19 women’s T20 tournament.

She said: “We put the team together and thought about the format. The format is her T20 and she will play in South Africa. The U19 World Cup is currently being held in South Africa, followed by the women’s national team’s T20 match. ”

“There are very few young artists like U19 skippers Disha, Dilara, Shorna and Marufa, but they are playing there. We took in veteran players and activists with them, and formed a team considering the conditions.”

Skipper Nigar Sultana wishes the team well in the tournament.

“The team is well-balanced and we have a lot of young talented cricketers on the team, along with some experienced fighters on the team, so I have confidence in the team. Sharmin Akhtar Supta, Falgana Hawk Pinky, Faliha Trisna, Rabeya and Sanjida Akter Magura were part of the team that traveled to New Zealand, but their Location could not be maintained.

The team will leave Dhaka on his 23rd January for Cape Town for his pre-competition training camp and his two training games against Ireland before the start of the tournament.

Bangladesh will also have his two warm-up games against Pakistan (02/06 Cape Town) and India (02/08 Stellenbosch) before facing off on 12 February. World Cup season against Sri Lanka.
