Cheteshwar Pujara and Captain Jaydev Unadkat will be unable to participate in the final round of the Ranji Trophy Saurashtra, which starts on January 24th. It was revealed that the duo are resting and no injuries are a concern. Saurashtra meets Tamil Nadu at his M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Pujara and Unadkat are included in a 17-man test squad for the first half of the four-game Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which begins on February 9 in Nagpur. The second Test will be in Delhi and his final two in Dharamsala and Ahmedabad.
Pujara recently scored an impressive 91 against Andhra at Rajkot but could not avoid his team’s 150 run loss. The amulet right-hander has been in good shape lately, and he scored 90 and 102 at Chattogram where India beat Bangladesh by 188 runs in the first test.
Meanwhile, Unadkat, who made his first Test comeback in 12 years against Bangladesh, has been fascinated by the red ball since returning to his trophy. He recently played his 100th first-class match in the Ranji Trophy game between Saurastra and Andhra, becoming the first bowler to score his first over hat trick in the Ranji Trophy against Delhi a few weeks ago.
