Prithi Ashwin, Ravichandran Ashwin’s wife, talks about her family’s experience with Covid-19 and urges people to get vaccinated

Prithi Ashwin, the wife of India and Delhi Capitals cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin, took to social media to share how she and her family dealt with Covid-19 after ten members of her family tested positive for the virus. Ashwin had to withdraw from the IPL 2021 season to help his family fight Covid-19, a disease that has already claimed the lives of over 200,000 people in India and over three million people worldwide. Six adults and four children in Prithi’s family had contracted the infection, and the children were “vehicles of propagation,” she said.

Prithi encouraged her followers to get vaccinated and give themselves “the best chance to survive” the virus after revealing that family members were infected in various cities and hospitals.

“Physical wellbeing, I believe, can recover more quickly than mental health. The days 5-8 were the most difficult for me. All was there, providing assistance, but you were alone. The illness that isolates the most people. Just reach out to ask for assistance “she said

Several cricketers on the IPL bubble and beyond, including Ashwin’s Delhi Capitals teammate Axar Patel, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Devdutt Padikkal, and former India captain Sachin Tendulkar, have tested positive in the last two months.

Ashwin married Prithi in 2011 and the couple has two children. This season, he played five matches and took one wicket.

Since his debut in 2010, off spinner and lower-order batsman Ravichandran Ashwin has played 78 Tests, 111 ODIs, and 46 T20Is for India.

He’s appeared in 159 IPL games and taken 139 wickets.
