Rishabh Pant Bio

Rishabh Rajendra Pant is an Indian cricketer who competes internationally for his country. Pant is a first-class cricketer for the Delhi Capitals in India. He also plays in the Indian Premier League for the Delhi Capitals.

Rishabh is one of India’s best Wicket Keeper-Battersmen, and he has been a regular in the Indian cricket team in Dhoni’s absence, especially in Tests, where the former captain has retired. Pant is well-known for his fearless attitude to situations and fiery batting style. Rishabh Pant was the first Indian batsman to score a six on his Test debut. Rishabh is one of the most promising young cricketers India has to bring.

Career

Domestic Career

Pant began his career as a member of the Rajasthan U-14 and U-16 teams. Pant, on the other hand, faced bigotry in Rajasthan due to his alleged status as an outsider, and was expelled from an academy. Pant made the decision to relocate from Rajasthan to Delhi in order to save his job.

Pant made his first-class debut in the Ranji Trophy when he was 18 years old. Pant’s triple-hundred against Maharashtra set a number of records. Pant smashed a 48-ball century against Jharkhand in the 2016-17 season. His performances in the Ranji Trophy secured him a place in India’s T20 squad for England’s 2017 tour of India.

IPL Career

Pant drew a lot of praise for his courageous batting style in domestic cricket and for the India U-19 team. He was so successful in the IPL that his first deal paid him 1.9 crore rupees. Pant was placed under a lot of pressure because he had such a large IPL price worth. Pant, on the other hand, came out on top of everything and exceeded everyone’s hopes.

International Career

On February 1, 2017, Pant made his Twenty20 International debut for India against England at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. At the age of 19 years 120 days, he is India’s second-youngest player to make his T20I debut (youngest at the time).

Pant was selected to India’s Test squad for the August 2018 series against England. On August 18, 2018, he made his Test debut against the England cricket team. Pant made history by becoming the first Indian batsman to open his Test career with a six. In the same tournament, Pant went on to score his first Test century. Pant became the second-youngest wicket-keeper to score a Test century in England, and the first Indian wicket-keeper to do so.

Pant had eleven catches during India’s tour of Australia. It was the most by an Indian wicketkeeper in a Test match. In that match, he also scored a century, making him the first Indian wicketkeeper to do so in Tests in Australia.

Pant was named in India’s ODI squad for their series against the West Indies after making his test debut against England. On October 21, 2018, Pant made his One-Day International debut against the West Indies.

Pant was selected to play for India in the Cricket World Cup in June 2019. He was called up to replace Shikhar Dhawan, who was injured in India’s game against Australia and sustained a hairline fracture on his left thumb. Pant was named as the squad’s rising star by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Family

Rishabh Pant was born in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, on October 4, 1997, to Rajendra and Saroj Pant. Sakshi Pant is his younger sibling. Pant’s father died in 2017 after suffering a cardiac arrest. Pant demonstrated extreme commitment and resolve when, only two days after cremating his mum, he scored 57 runs in an IPL match for the Delhi Daredevils and dedicated it to his late father.
