When Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) teammate T Natarajan questioned Sundar about his previous Indian Premier League (IPL) squad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, the 22-year-old spin-bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar offered a humorous answer (RCB).
At the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 super auction in Bengaluru, the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise was locked in a bidding battle with the Lucknow Supergiants, Gujarat Titans, Delhi Capitals, and Punjab Kings for Washington Sundar’s services. Sundar was signed by the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise for a whopping Rs 8.75 crore.
Pacer Natarajan questioned Sundar in a video posted on Sunrisers Hyderabad’s official Twitter account, “So do you miss RCB, or is this better?” Sundar answered by saying that the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise is superior.
Sundar, a young spin-bowling all-rounder who spent time with Royal Challengers Bangalore, has appeared in 42 Indian Premier League games and scored 217 runs at an average of 13.6 and a strike rate of 111.3. He’s also taken 27 wickets at an average of 32.1 and an economy rate of 6.93.
Meanwhile, the Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad will kick off their Indian Premier League 2022 campaign on March 29 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium against one-time champions Rajasthan Royals (RR).
