Mitchell Marsh, Australia’s premier all-rounder, has been ruled out of the white-ball series in Pakistan due to a hip injury.
Mitchell Marsh, Australia’s allrounder, has been ruled out of the remaining One-Day Internationals against Pakistan and will join the Delhi Capitals team for the IPL 2022 season to “complete his recuperation” from a hip flexor injury. Marsh, who was purchased for a record Rs 6.5 crore in the IPL auction, was set to join Delhi Capitals after the Pakistan white-ball series ended on April 6.
Due to availability issues and injuries to other important players, DC only acquired seven international players in the big auction and only used two of them against Mumbai. Marsh and David Warner were supposed to join the Capitals after April 6th.
Marsh will be discharged, Cricket Australia announced in a statement on Wednesday, after an evaluation revealed he will be unavailable for the tour’s last three matches.
“Marsh will go to India to join the Delhi Capitals team, where physiotherapist Pat Farhart, a former Australian and current New South Wales player, will oversee his recuperation after an isolation period,” the statement said.
To round up their tour of Pakistan, Australia will play a T20 encounter against Pakistan, whom they defeated 1-0 in a three-test series. “It’s the greatest method to be able to concentrate on my recuperation without the trip and isolation break,” Marsh added.
“I’m unhappy that I won’t be able to play in the Pakistan series, but I’m excited to return to the Australian group for our next trip.” The visitors have had a slew of injuries and have been infected with COVID-19, including team physio Brendan Wilson.
Following Tuesday’s match and again on Wednesday, Cricket Australia confirmed all available players and staff in Pakistan returned negative tests.
