Chennai Super Kings Changed Jersy And Sponsership

After a disappointing season last year, Chennai Super Kings will be looking for a fresh start in IPL 2021.
Chennai Super Kings will be desperate to rebound in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after a disappointing showing in the previous edition. The MS Dhoni-led squad struggled to find top gear in IPL 2020, finishing seventh out of eight teams.

For the first time in IPL history, they did not advance to the playoffs. CSK was the first team to be disqualified from the playoff chase, and they seemed to be on their way to finishing the season at the bottom of the standings. They did, however, escape finishing last by winning their last three league games. In all, they won six of their 14 league games.

After a disappointing season last year, the three-time IPL champions will be hoping for a fresh start this season. The new jersey for the Chennai-based team has been revealed ahead of the new season. Myntra, their new sponsor, unveiled the new jersey. It all began with a simple tweet from CSK’s official Twitter account, which read: ‘Aaramikalangala?’ (roughly translates to “Should we begin?”)

In response to CSK’s tweet, Myntra shared a photo of the new jersey. The former sponsors, The Muthoot Group, and their logo have been replaced by Myntra’s name and logo on the new jersey.

CSK and their supporters will be hoping that the new uniform brings them luck as they try to change their fortunes on the pitch. The schedule for the IPL 2021 season has been released. The fourteenth edition of the competition will begin on April 9, and the final will be held on May 30. On April 10, CSK will begin their campaign.

CSK squad for IPL 2021

CSK bolstered their roster ahead of the new season with a few new additions made during the auction last month. K Gowtham, a Karnataka all-rounder, was their most expensive player, costing them Rs 9.25 crore to secure his services. CSK has splashed out on England all-rounder Moeen Ali, paying Rs 7 crore for him.

Cheteshwar Pujara, Harishankar Reddy, Bhagath Verma, and Hari Nishaanth were among the other players they purchased. The return of Suresh Raina, a senior batsman, will also help CSK. Due to personal reasons, both the southpaw and Harbhajan Singh have withdrawn from the IPL 2020. The franchise later retained Raina, while Harbhajan was released.
