Indian Premier League 2022: As he prepares to represent the Gujarat Titans in the forthcoming season, young batter Shubman Gill talked out about his hopes.
Shubman Gill, a right-handed batsman who was bought by the Gujarat Titans for Rs 8 crore, will try to make an impact in the next Indian Premier League season (IPL). The talented teenager is no stranger to playing under pressure, having played for Kolkata Knight Riders in previous editions, and his franchise will hope that he gives adequate assistance to skipper Hardik Pandya as the squad aims to go all the way in its maiden season.
When asked whether his old KKR colleague Lockie Ferguson, who is currently with the Gujarat Titans, might perform well for the new organisation, Shubman sounded upbeat.
“Yes, I believe Lockie Ferguson was a tremendous asset for us when we were with the Kolkata Knight Riders, and I am certain he will be a significant X-factor for us in the Gujarat Titans team. As you asked, if I would be able to assist Hardik, I will, of course, if he is ready to seek my assistance in any scenario “During an encounter with the media on Sunday, Shubman remarked in response to an NDTV question.
The IPL 2022 season will begin on March 26, with the opening match taking place at Wankhede Stadium between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. The Gujarat Titans will kick off their season against the Lucknow Super Giants on March 28.
When asked whether he saw himself as a member of the leadership group, Shubman said, “I don’t consider myself as a member of the leadership group.” “It’s obvious that being a part of this setup feels fantastic. Unfortunately, I was not retained by KKR, but being picked up by Gujarat Titans felt fantastic. Because I’ve been in quarantine, I haven’t been able to contact Hardik Pandya or Ashish Nehra. We’ll figure out our plans as soon as I come out, and I’ll have a lot more clarity about my position, both personally and for the team.”
