Bookies prediction : Before the T20 World Cup, BCCI is confident that Jasprit Bumrah will be able to play in series against Australia or South Africa.

Jasprit Bumrah is “making good progress” despite missing the Asia Cup in 2022 due to an old back issue. He has returned to Mumbai from Bengaluru, where he spent a week studying at the National Cricket Academy, to complete his recovery. His prognosis was not promising, and he might not have played in the T20 World Cup. The NCA and BCCI physios are upbeat about his availability for the T20 World Cup in Australia, though. He might make a comeback in the series in Australia and South Africa.

“He is recovering well, and he has made progress. We communicate with the physios frequently. While he is away from NCA, Nitin (Patel) is regularly monitoring the situation. We are confident that he will return for the T20 World Cup as well as the Australia or South Africa series. However, it’s still too soon to say,”

Due to his persistent back issue, Jasprit Bumrah has been sidelined for a considerable amount of time. According to experts, his peculiar motion wears out his body and results in repeated ailments. He played pivotal matches for India, though, and appeared to have recovered from that. But the wound has returned to torment him once more.

He was out for several months due to a lower back stress fracture. India, though, can no longer afford to lose him with the T20 World Cup just around the corner.

“Yes, it’s worrisome. He is back in rehabilitation, where he will receive the best care possible. His prior injury is the issue, and that is what worries us. He had this injury just two months before the World Cup, which is the worst conceivable timing. We are keeping a tight eye on his health. He must be carefully managed since he is the best bowler in cricket, a senior BCCI official told InsideSport earlier this month.

But since then, there has been consistent advancement. He is making a good recovery from his injuries, and the MRI scans ruled out the possibility of a stress fracture. The selectors and BCCI are crossing their fingers for him as he fights for fitness in time for the Australia and South Africa series.

The Indian speed spearhead’s previous injury issues caused his Test debut to be postponed until 2018.

Bumrah re-experienced his prior injury after suffering a back problem.

Despite the fact that it is not a stress fracture, his history of injuries makes it quite concerning.

Bumrah is now receiving rehabilitation after being disqualified from the Asia Cup 2022.

He has been at NCA for a week and is now back in Mumbai.

Once the rehab phase is over, he will return to the NCA for a fitness evaluation.

But his extended absence from the field following prior injuries is cause for concern.

Bumrah missed nearly five months of the 2019 season despite the BCCI’s claim that the ailment was minimal.

India will only have Bhuvneshwar Kumar to rely on in his absence.

Harshal Patel, who also has a rib issue, is questionable for the T20 World Cup.

India will have significantly fewer chances to win the T20 World Cup in Australia if both are ruled out.

There are only 16 days left before the selectors must submit the T20 World Cup roster. Bumrah’s chances of making a comeback for the home series against Australia and South Africa are optimistic according to the physios, but BCCI doesn’t want to take any chances.

“Once more, it’s too soon to say. Once he is fit, we will talk about our alternatives. He is now not in shape. We anticipate his return. But when he passes the fitness test, we’ll know for sure. He will never, under any circumstances, be rushed, not even for the T20 World Cup. We have time for the T20 World Cup and we’ll monitor its development, according to a BCCI official.
