The last few weeks have been challenging for Prithvi Shaw. Despite Mumbai’s solid start in the Ranji Cup, the first batsmen were unable to convert them into big scores.
The pressure was on for the 23-year-old, despite scoring his half-century in the third leg against Saurashtra a few weeks ago.
He appeared in the match against Assam with just 168 carries in seven innings, averaging 22.85, but was delivered when counted.
At his cricket ground in Amingaon on Tuesday, Shaw smashed a career-high first-class score of 240 with his 283 deliveries to put Mumbai in the driver’s seat.
