After his screamer of a catch during a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) match went viral on social media, Fabian Allen grabbed the international spotlight. Allen backed up his potential with successes in the domestic make-up after receiving a lot of media coverage, and he’s now set to play in the 13th edition of the IPL.
Allen made his first-class debut for Jamaica at the 2016–17 Regional Four Day Competition on November 25, 2016. Allen has been a member of the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots of the Caribbean Premier League since 2017.
In November 2017, he made his first-class century, hitting 169 runs without being dismissed.
In the 2017–18 Regional Four Day Competition, Jamaica will face Trinidad and Tobago. In addition, on February 6, 2018, he made his List A debut for Jamaica in the 2017–18 Regional Super50.
Fabian Allen first made waves in the Caribbean Premier League in 2017 when he made a screamer of a grab at deep point that went viral on YouTube. In the last two seasons, he has been a revelation for them with the bat, scoring 337 runs at an 181.18 strike rate. He’s also contributed with the ball.
On October 27, 2018, Fabian Allen made his One-Day International debut against India in Pune. Despite the fact that Allen didn’t score much and went wicketless in the match, West Indies won by 43 runs. He has played 14 One-Day Internationals so far, taking four wickets and making 143 runs.
One week after making his ODI debut in Kolkata, the West Indian made his T20I debut against India. Allen scored 27 off 20 deliveries and bowled an over against a powerful Indian bowling line-up in a match that the Windies finally lost by 5 wickets thanks to DLS.
His impressive results in the CPL caught the attention of former IPL champion Sunrisers Hyderabad, who purchased him for 50 lakh in the 2020 IPL Auction.
