Francois Faf du Plessis was born in Pretoria, South Africa, on July 13, 1984. He bats with his right hand and bowls with his right shoulder. He bats in the middle order and plays an important part for his team as a middle order batsman.
Faf du Plessis is the cousin of Namibian rugby star Marcel du Plessis and the son of South African rugby player Francois du Plessis. Faf du Plessis is married and has a daughter with Imari Visser. His sister is married to the South African cricketer Hardus Viljoen.

He is only the second batsman in the history of the game to score a century as a captain in all three formats. He is also the first South African to score centuries in each of the game’s three formats.
With 185 runs, Faf du Plessis is the second highest individual score by a South African cricketer.

Faf du Plessis is a South African cricketer who plays for the Northerns and has 8385 runs in 142 First Class matches. In First Class cricket, he has 17 centuries and 52 half centuries, and in List A cricket, he has 21 centuries.
International
Faf du Plessis made his Test debut against the Australian cricket team in Adelaide on November 22, 2012. In the two innings, he scored 78 and 110 runs, respectively. The match, however, ended in a draw.
Du Plessis has scored 3750 runs at an average of over 41, with nine centuries, making him one of South Africa’s most dependable Test batsmen. He is a fast fielder who has caught 56 balls in 61 games.
On 18 January 2011, Faf du Plessis made his One Day International debut against India in Cape Town, scoring 60 runs. He has 5507 runs at an average of over 47 in 143 matches, with 12 centuries and 35 half centuries to his credit.
Faf du Plessis made his T20I debut against England on September 8, 2012, and quickly rose to the rank of Proteas captain. He has a 135.48 strike rate and has 1363 runs in 44 matches.
Club Career
Faf du Plessis first played county cricket for Lancashire in 2008. However, in 2010, he was forced to terminate his contract due to a reform in the rules that made him unavailable. He debuted in the IPL in 2011 for Chennai Super Kings, scoring 398 runs in the 2012 season.
With 318 runs in nine matches in the Mzansi Super League 2018, he was the top scorer for Paarl Rocks. He’s also played in the Caribbean Premier League with the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, but it wasn’t a particularly fruitful stint.
Captaincy
After AB de Villiers’ departure, Faf du Plessis took over as captain and has led the team in 32 Test matches. He has a success record of more than 50% in Tests, including 17 wins. He has only played three tied matches and prefers low-scoring matches over high-scoring ones.
