Hardik Pandya gave a hilarious response to Ravi Shastri’s question about his partnership with Shahdur Thakur at the ODI against New Zealand, the third of the series.
India scored a comprehensive 90-run victory over New Zealand in the third ODI of the series in Indore. With a mammoth 385/9 in 50 overs, India threw out the Kiwis for 295, with Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav picking three wickets each. Shaadur has also made significant strides in this racket, just as he posted his prized 25 in 17 deliveries and hit three 4s and 6s. He formed his 54-run partnership with Hardik Pandia (54) in the final over of the game and played a major role in pushing India’s score past his 350-run mark. After India’s victory, India’s former head coach Ravi Shastri spoke to Hardik Pandya about the game and touched on various topics including their partnership with Shahdrul. Shastri asked a sarcastic question and he asked Pandya who gave advice to whom during the partnership.
Pandia burst into laughter and joined the joke by declaring that she was “thankful” for listening to Shadur’s folds.
“Fortunately, I was glad that Shardul put his trust in me and let me dictate the internal situation. I try to tip, but at the end of the day, he trusts me, so he does exactly what I want. So it’s been integrated into the partnership, but thanks to Shardul for listening to me!
Hardik his Pandia has seen huge growth since returning to cricket last year with the Indians in his premier league after an injury kept him significantly out of the game. Pandya led the Gujarat Titans to his IPL title in his first season as captain. The all-rounder made his return to team his India a few weeks after the league ended and captained the team in his T20I series against Ireland in June.
Earlier this year, Pandya was named captain of his T20I team for the series against Sri Lanka, and will play the role in his three-match short later this week in the format when India face New Zealand in the series.
