IPL 2021 : After Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out of the Delhi Capitals’ match against the Rajasthan Royals

Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje of the Delhi Capitals (DC) will be unavailable for their second game in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 on Thursday.

The Delhi Capitals will face the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Last season’s runners-up are coming off a fantastic victory over Chennai Super Kings in their first IPL 2021 match (CSK). Meanwhile, RR was defeated by Punjab Kings (PBKS) by four runs in their first game last week.

Nortje, a South African fast bowler, had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier in the day on Wednesday. Nortje started his mandatory seven-day quarantine after testing negative, according to the paper. According to the IPL’s standard operating procedure, both players must be checked several times to ensure that the RT-PCR result was not a false positive. Nortje took the COVID-19 exam again while on quarantine and got a positive response this time. The Delhi franchise, on the other hand, is yet to make an official announcement.

On April 6, Rabada and Nortje flew from South Africa to Mumbai together. After completing their seven-day quarantine and receiving a negative RT-PCR test result, the two were expected to be available for the second game for Delhi. “We just know that Anrich Nortje’s findings are pending since he is now in quarantine. We won’t be able to tell you anything more until we get the test results “On Wednesday, PTI cited a source in Washington, DC.

According to the PTI study, Delhi is delaying making an official statement because a false positive occurred previously. It happened with Nitish Rana of the Kolkata Knight Riders, who was the first player to test positive right before the IPL 2021 began. Rana tested positive after entering the KKR camp, but his subsequent RT-PCR result was negative.
